Lauren Swanson represents clients in a broad range of commercial real estate transactions, including commercial leasing, acquisitions and dispositions, and financing.

Lauren also focuses her practice on government real estate, particularly GSA leasing and navigating clients through related processes, including requests for proposals, Automated Advanced Acquisition Program submissions, lease negotiations, novations and the sale of government-leased properties.

Prior to joining Stroock, Lauren was a law clerk within the General Counsel’s Office of the Executive Office of the President of the United States, Office of Administration, where she worked on contractual matters related to procurement and employment law.

During law school, Lauren also obtained a Certificate of Legal Studies in Hospitality Law and Practice, and served as vice president of the Business Law Society and managing editor of the American University Legislation and Policy Brief.


Representative Matters

  • Represented Morgan Stanley in the $240 million sale of 1801 North Lynn Street, a 24-story, 348,000 square-foot trophy commercial property in Arlington, Virginia, to the General Services Administration on behalf of the United States Department of State.
  • Represented Carr Properties in the acquisition of 1875 K Street NW, a 190,345 square-foot and 99% leased, Class A office building located in Washington, DC.
  • Represented Easterly Government Properties, Inc., in their acquisition of a 302,057 square-foot portfolio of four U.S. Government-leased properties for a purchase price of approximately $97.4 million.
  • Represented Beacon Capital Partners with respect to the disposition of two multiple building portfolios to a new multi-party joint venture in which Beacon retained a small percentage of ownership. The sale was comprised of Lafayette Center, a three-building office complex totaling approximately 789,000 square feet in DC's Central Business District, and Pentagon Center, a two-building, 912,000 square-foot GSA-leased office complex in Crystal City.
