Stroock partner Andrew DeNatale will serve as Co-Chair and Stroock partner Lewis Kruger will serve as a panelist at the Nuts and Bolts of Corporate Bankruptcy 2010 Conference sponored by Practising Law Institute (PLI).
The conference has two dates and locations:- November 29-30, 2010 in San Francisco, CA
- December 13-14, 2010 in New York, NY
- Additionally, the November 29-30 conference dates will be webcast simultaneously as the actual conference.
In addition to co-chairing the conference, Andrew DeNatale will participate in two panels:- "Reorganization (Chapter 11)" at 11:15 am on day two of the conference. The panel will discuss:
- Debtor-in-possession
- Chapter 11 trustee and examiner
- Corporate governance and operation of the business
- Creditors committee
- Disclosure statement for the plan and soliciting votes on the plan
- "Plan Confirmation" at 2:45 pm on day two of the conference. The panel will discuss:
- Consensual confirmation
- Non-consensual confirmation — (“Cram Down”)
- Effect of confirmation
- Third-party releases and injunctions
- Exemption from securities laws
- Special tax provisions
- Conclusion of the case
Lewis Kruger will participate in the panel "Your Client Is in Financial Distress —
Now What!?!", a discussion of basic options for distressed businesses — including Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 — and selection of the appropriate option, at 10:00 am on day two of each conference.
