Gary L. Granik

Gary Granik is one of seven corporate partners with principal responsibility for the ongoing representation of nearly 800 mutual funds, closed-end funds, ETFs or business development companies (or their independent board members), as well as investment advisers, industry service providers and unregistered pooled investment vehicles. Our clients represent nearly $1 trillion in assets under management (approximately 7% of U.S. investment company assets).

Mr. Granik's practice focuses on investment adviser and investment company regulation. He has acted as both fund counsel and underwriters' counsel in numerous closed-end and mutual fund products on behalf of leading institutional clients, with particular emphasis on both registered and private alternative investment products. Mr. Granik also regularly advises private investment vehicles and their managers on investment management and other corporate law issues.

He represents several domestic and international institutional money managers and has extensive experience in counseling non-U.S. advisers seeking access to the U.S. market. His work has included counseling funds and asset managers on regulatory compliance matters, the development of structured finance products and derivative instruments utilizing investment company vehicles, and the negotiation of numerous private placements for acquisition by investment companies.
