Diversity is woven throughout the fabric of our firm, from recruiting and pro bono to the career development of our attorneys. We believe that supporting diversity efforts is essential in meeting our goals of having a vibrant, thriving practice; providing opportunities for personal and professional development; and ensuring our clients receive the excellent service they have come to expect.
From internships and recruiting through career development and promotion, Stroock actively supports the contributions of every attorney at the firm. Stroock's diversity efforts are proactive, innovative, and designed to advance the careers of its attorneys.
Whether inside the firm or out in the community, a fundamental goal of all our diversity efforts is to create opportunities for all our attorneys. This commitment can be seen in internships that introduce community youth to the legal profession, as well as in-house training programs that strive to foster and acknowledge each attorney's individual talents. Mentoring plays a key role in this pursuit, both in the form of established programs such as our Attorney Enrichment Program, our participation in Practicing Attorneys for Law Students ("PALS"), and informal one-on-one mentoring relationships between our attorneys.
These efforts succeed because we focus on the development of individuals. As we support each attorney to achieve his or her career goals, we also help individuals in our communities through our pro bono efforts and Affinity Groups. For example, we have gained asylum for an abused refugee and provided educational services for a learning-disabled child. At the heart of Stroock's commitment to diversity is our support of individuals, whether inside or outside the firm, to realize their potential regardless of their circumstances.
